Analog Digium Interface Cards and Analog Telephony Devices

Since 2001, Digium® has designed, manufactured, and sold PC-based telephony cards for extending the functionality of Asterisk® to the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN).

Digium® analog cards were created for connecting analog telephones and analog POTS (Plain Old Telephone System) lines to the PSTN through a PC. With these cards, users can transport calls from POTS to POTS, POTS to PBX, or POTS to VoIP. Using one of our analog cards in concert with Digium's Asterisk® software, standard PC platforms, and the Linux® OS, one can create telephony solutions capable of satisfying the needs of business applications with industry-leading quality. Digium's analog cards utilize patent pending VoiceBus™ technology. VoiceBus technology allows these cards to use an industry standard, bus-mastering interface as found in millions of PCs worldwide. VoiceBus maximizes system compatibility and prevents system conflicts.

Digium AEX804E 8 Port Analog Interface Card
The Digium AEX800 is a half-length PCI-Express 1.0-compliant, 8 port analog interface card. The AEX800 supports combinations of station and/or trunk/line modules for a total of eight (8) interfaces. Digium AEX804E 8 Port Analog Interface Card
 
VPMADT032 (Echo Cancellation Module for TDM/AEX cards)
For Asterisk users who connect to the PSTN, the most common type of echo is hybrid echo - the echo introduced by the impedance mismatch between 2-wire and 4-wire telephone circuits. To combat this, Digium introduced DSP-based echo cancellation modules for their multi-port T1/E1/J1 cards and the 24-port analog card.VPMADT032 (Echo Cancellation Module for TDM/AEX cards).
 
Digium S Series FXS Modules
A Foreign eXchange Station, or FXS, is a telephone interface which provides battery power, sends dialtone, and generates ringing voltage. A standard telephone plugs into such an interface to receive telephone service. Strictly speaking, a telephone exchange is an example of an FXS, as is the telephone jack on the wall, though the term is rarely applied except in connection with foreign exchange service.
Digiums FXS modules allow legacy analog phones to be connected to more up-to-date VoIP systems.

We offer two Digium S Series FXS Modules - the S110M and the S400M.
Digium's S110M FXS module allows the TDM400P card or TDM800P card to terminate analog telephones.S110M FXS module.
The S400M FXS module allows the TDM800P card or TDM2400P card to terminate four analog telephones per module.S400M FXS module.

Digium X Series FXO Modules

In telecommunications, a Foreign Exchange Office, or FXO, is a telephone signaling interface that receives POTS, or "plain old telephone service". It generates the on-hook and off-hook indicators used to signal a loop closure at the FXS's end of the circuit. Analog telephone handsets, fax machines and (analogue) modems are FXO devices, though the term is rarely used except in connection with Foreign exchange service (FX).

FXO interfaces are also available for computers and networking equipment, to allow these to interact directly with POTS systems. These are commonly found in devices acting as gateways between Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) systems and the public switched telephone network (PSTN).

Digiums FXO modules allow up-to-date VoIP systems to be connected to legacy analog systems.

We offer two Digium S Series FXO Modules - the X100M and the X400M.

Digium's X100M FXO module allows the TDM400P card or TDM800P card to terminate analog telephone lines (POTS).
The X400M FXO module allows the TDM800P card or TDM2400P card to terminate four analog telephone lines (POTS) per module.

Digital Digium Interface cards

Since 2001, Digium® has designed, manufactured, and sold PC-based telephony cards for extending the functionality of Asterisk® for TDM to VoIP gateways and voice processing. All Digium digital cards are RoHS compliant and manufactured in an ISO 9001:2001 certified facility in the United States. Each Digium card is backed by a five (5) year hardware warranty as well as our Exceptional Satisfaction Program (ESP).

Digium digital cards are high-performance, cost effective, digital telephony interfaces. Digium digital cards in the TE series support both E1 and T1 environments. The environments are selectable on a per-card or per-port basis. This feature enables signaling translation between E1 and T1 equipment, and allows inexpensive T1 channel banks to connect with E1 circuits. The bus-mastering TE cards improve I/O speed over slave-only architectures, resulting in reduced CPU usage and increased card density per server. The cards provide the power to interconnect traditional telephony systems (legacy PBX) with emerging Voice-over IP (VoIP) technologies.

The TE cards support industry standard telephony and data protocols, including Primary Rate ISDN (both N. American and Euro Standard) protocol families for voice, PPP, Cisco HDLC, and Frame Relay data modes. Both line-side and trunk-side interfaces are supported, as well as advanced call features. All Digium E1/T1 interface cards have a built-in CSU/DSU and may be connected directly to the E1/T1 physical interface.

The TE cards have been designed to be fully compatible with existing software applications. They are fully integrated with Digium's Asterisk® software. The open source drivers for these cards support an API for custom application development. With the combination of Digium hardware and Asterisk software, numerous telephony configurations are possible. From the traditional PBX to VoIP Gateways, Digium solutions are paving the way for a new generation of worldwide communications.

Digium Single Span Digital Interface Cards
Digium TE121 Single Span PCI Express Interface Card

Used in conjunction with Asterisk, the TE121 can be used to deliver a wide range of PBX and IVR services to the network or handset including Voicemail, Call Conferencing, Three-way Calling, and VoIP Gateways.
The TE121 is a single span, selectable T1 (24-channel), E1 (32-channel), or J1 (24-channel) card that plugs into a PCI express slot.TE121 Single Span PCI Express Interface Card.

Digium TE122 Single Span PCI Interface Card
This card differs from the TE121 in that it plugs into a standard PCI bus. TE122 Single Span PCI Interface Card.

Digium TE205P Dual Span Digital Interface Card
The TE205P supports both E1 and T1/J1 environments and is selectable on a per-card or per-port basis. This feature enables signaling translation between E1 and T1/J1 equipment and allows inexpensive T1/J1 channel banks to connect with E1 circuits. Because the TE205P improves I/O speed over slave-only architecture, the result is reduced CPU usage and increased card density per server. The TE205P is for use only with a 5.0 volt PCI slot.

Digium T207P Dual Span Digital Interface Card
The TE207P is a bundling of Digium's leading TE205P product and their out-standing VPMOCT064 Octasic DSP-based echo cancellation module. The TE207P is Digium's and the industry's first two-port digital card featuring hardware-based echo cancellation. Digium T207P Dual Span Digital Interface Card.

Digium TE210P Dual Span Digital Interface Card
The TE210P supports E1, T1, and J1 environments and is selectable on a per-card or per-port basis. This feature enables signaling translation between E1, T1, J1 equipment and allows inexpensive T1/J1 channel banks to connect with E1 circuits. Because the TE210P improves I/O speed by up to 10 times, the result is reduced CPU usage and increased card density per server. The TE210P supports a 3.3v PCI slot only - typically available on newer server motherboards and in 64-bit PCI bus architectures.Digium TE210P Dual Span Digital Interface Card.

Digium TE212P Dual Span Digital Interface Card
The TE212P offers an on-board DSP-based echo cancellation module. It supports E1, T1, and J1 environments and is selectable on a per-card or per-port basis. The TE212P is a bundling of our leading TE210P product and our new VPMOCT064 Octasic DSP-based echo cancellation module. The TE212P is Digium's and the industry's first two-port digital card featuring hardware-based echo cancellation. The new module enables users to eliminate echo tails up to 128ms or 1024 taps across all 64 channels in E1 mode or 48 channels in T1/J1 modes. Further, this module takes advantage of the Octasic Voice Quality Enhancement to provide superior sound quality on all calls. Digium has designed the TE212P to be fully compatible with existing software applications and it is fully integrated with the Asterisk Open Source PBX/IVR platform. Digium TE220 Dual Span Digital Interface Card
Digium's TE220 PCI Express card provides termination of up to 60 channels of voice or data across two E1, T1, or J1 interfaces in a PCIe x1 form factor. Selectable on a per-port or per-card basis, the TE220 allows E1 and T1 circuits to be mixed with full channel synchronization. Supporting PCIe x1, the TE220 may be used in any available PCIe 1.0 compliant slot - 1x, x4, x8, and x16 without considerations for voltage selection or lane size. The TE220 may be combined with Digium's VPMOCT064 Octasic DSP-based echo cancellation module. The VPMOCT064 provides the G.168 algorithm which has been labeled a benchmark for echo cancellation and performs 128ms (1024 taps) of echo cancellation across all 60 channels in E1 mode or all 48 channels in T1/J1 modes. Digium TE420 Quad Span Digital Interface Card
Digium's TE420 PCI Express card provides termination of up to 120 channels of voice or data across four E1, T1, or J1 interfaces in a PCIe x1 form factor. Optional VPMADT0128 (Echo Cancellation module for TE4x0) is available.

Digium TE412P Quad Span Digital Interface Card
The TE412P is a bundling of our leading TE410P product and our new VPMOCT128 Octasic DSP-based echo cancellation module. The VPMOCT128 provides a certified carrier-grade algorithm that has been labeled a benchmark for echo cancellation. This new module improves upon our older VPM400M and TE411P/TE406P products.
